The one minor drawback is that you'll need to spend some time learning the app's features to make the most of the device. But once you get the hang of it, the creative possibilities are extensive - from simple decorative patterns to animated artwork.
In terms of build quality, it feels solid and the certifications (FC, CE, RoHS, etc.) provide peace of mind regarding safety standards. The social interaction features are a nice bonus, though I mainly use it as a decorative piece.

It has an app to download, where you can create Messages or custom designs. Those who wish can also make them change color to the sound of music. It's a great gift to give for any occasion.
